Overview

Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is a LitRPG series by Selkie Myth. Podium's series page sets up the premise in one line: "Elaine is ripped from this world to Pallos, a land of unlimited possibilities made real by a grand system governing classes, skills, and magic." So Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is an isekai LitRPG, with a healer at its center: book 1 is titled Oathbound Healer.

Readers file it the same way. u/Active-Advisor5909, in a 2023 r/litrpg thread asking for a long series like He Who Fights with Monsters: "a long LitRPG-Isekai, but the MC might be a bit to nice for your taste... she does commit warcrimes so perhaps judge for yourself." (comment, April 2, 2023). For more answers to that kind of request, our books like He Who Fights with Monsters list tallies what readers recommended in r/litrpg threads.

Goodreads gives book 1 a first-published year of 2020 and 4.27 from 4,531 ratings, as of October 12, 2026. The Kindle editions on Amazon today are later Mango Media LLC editions, dated January and February 2025 for books 1 to 14, so this guide uses the Audible dates as the release timeline.

Audible titles books 2 and 3 simply Beneath the Dragoneye Moons 2 and 3; the subtitles above are from the Kindle editions and the covers, which print each book's Roman numeral above the series name.

Step-by-Step: How to Read Beneath the Dragoneye Moons

1. Start with Oathbound Healer (book 1): 370 Kindle pages, or 13 hours 16 minutes on Audible.

2. Read books 2 to 16 by number: Amazon labels them "Book 2 of 16" to "Book 16 of 16" and the covers we checked (books 1, 8, 11, 14, 15 and 16) print the Roman numeral. Neither Amazon's numbering nor Audible's 16-book list has a half-numbered extra.

3. Skip the side book on Goodreads, or save it for later: Goodreads counts 17 total works, but the 17th, Valkyrie's Dawn, is listed outside the 16 primary works.

4. Expect the two Nov 2025 books together: Rise from the Ashes and Of Gods and Dragons came out on Audible three days apart, November 18 and 21, 2025, so the ending arrived as a pair.

5. Keep track on the series page: the Beneath the Dragoneye Moons series page lists every book with a checklist for the ones you have finished.

The Audiobooks: Andrea Emmes

Andrea Emmes narrates all 16 audiobooks, per each book's Audible page. They add up to 242 hours 45 minutes by our sum, an average of about 15 hours 10 minutes. That is long for a series but short per book: only New Horizons (23 hours 13 minutes) and Mandate of Heaven (22 hours 56 minutes) pass 20 hours, and Moonfall is under 8.

At 242 hours 45 minutes, the series would rank seventh in our longest LitRPG audiobook series list, between The Path of Ascension (270 h 19 m) and Mark of the Fool (206 h 55 m).

The release pace on Audible was steady for most of the run: 63 to 91 days apart for books 1 to 6, then the longest wait, 315 days, between Immortal Moments (June 7, 2022) and Return to Remus (April 18, 2023). After that the gaps ran 35 to 196 days, with the final two books three days apart.

Podium Audio is the publisher on Audible for books 1 to 15. For book 16, Audible lists "Royal Guard Publishing LLC, Mango Media", and Podium's own series page does not list Of Gods and Dragons. Same narrator, different publisher on the last book; for a listener nothing changes except where the store page sits. Book 16 had 4.86 from 168 Audible ratings on October 12, 2026.

Is There a Book 17?

Not on any store we checked, as of October 12, 2026:

  • Amazon: the last Kindle book, Of Gods and Dragons, is "Book 16 of 16". Amazon's automatic review summary on that page says "Customers find this book to be a great conclusion to the series".
  • Audible: "16 books in series", the last one released November 21, 2025.
  • Goodreads: 16 primary works.
  • Rising Shadow, a book database, has a page for a "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" book 17 with "EXPECTED RELEASE 2027" and "Publication is tentatively expected in 2027." (wording rechecked October 19, 2026). It shows no title beyond "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons Book 17" and no store link or cover we could verify. It also numbers the books differently from Amazon, so we treat it as unconfirmed.

Readers describe the series as finished. u/board_troll: "It is long, 16 books, but also finished. To be fair, not everyone likes the author’s style." (comment, January 13, 2026). We could not open the author's Patreon posts, so there is no official statement in this guide; if one appears, we will add it.

What Readers Say

The most-upvoted mention in our saved threads, from u/Govir in an r/litrpg thread asking what to read after HWFWM and The Primal Hunter: "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons might be considered similar. Definitely has that class building aspect and for sure is LitRPG." (comment, August 12, 2024).

Beneath the Dragoneye Moons might be considered similar. Definitely has that class building aspect and for sure is LitRPG.

Others compare it with a healer series we have covered. u/theglowofknowledge, in a February 2026 audiobook thread: "Also another series inspired by Azarinth Healer, Beneath the Dragoneye Moons. AH is more wandering and punching, BtDM is more wandering and healing." (comment, February 25, 2026). Our Azarinth Healer reading order has that series.

Not everyone gets along with the lead. u/NOMursE: "Some people have complained that the MC is an annoying teenage girl but it never bothered me. It has some of the most epic parts IMO such as the dual plague incident and the pirate attack." (comment, July 25, 2026). And u/blueluck, recommending it as "a 16-book completed series with a deep system", added: "It was originally published as a web serial, so it has some of the same writing issues as HWFWM and PH." (comment, April 29, 2026).

Tips Before You Start

  • Commit to the length. 16 books is a long run; the upside is that you can finish it without waiting.
  • Mind the dates. Kindle shows 2025 dates for books 1 to 14 because those are newer Mango Media editions; the Audible dates, from 2021, are the ones we use for the timeline.
  • Know the lead. Readers note a young, kind main character; one says complaints that she is "an annoying teenage girl" never bothered them, another warns she "might be a bit to nice" for some tastes.
  • Spoilers: later blurbs give away earlier events. Read only the blurb of the book you are about to start.
  • More isekai in order: our Bog Standard Isekai reading order covers another series built on the same premise of being pulled into a new world.

Our take

Based on the facts above, Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is one of the few long LitRPG series you can start and finish today: 16 numbered books, one narrator from first to last, and no store listing for anything after book 16. The books average about 15 hours each, so the 242 hours come in manageable pieces. The caveats are softer: no publisher statement that it is over, a final audiobook from a different publisher than the first 15, and a lead some readers do not warm to. If you liked Azarinth Healer or want an isekai with an ending, start with Oathbound Healer.

How we checked this

On October 12, 2026 we opened the Audible page for each of the 16 audiobooks (narrator, length, date, publisher) and the Audible series page, the Amazon Kindle page for each of the 16 books ("Book N of 16", date, print length, publisher, review summary), the Goodreads series page, Podium Entertainment's series page and Rising Shadow's book 17 page. Selkie Myth's Patreon posts did not load for us. Reader comments were copied from Reddit thread data we saved on October 10, 2026, because Reddit blocks live reading from our machine. Totals, averages and day counts are our own arithmetic. A site-agent then compared every number in this article with our source table before publication.
