On Goodreads, book 1 has 4.34 from 1,434 ratings on the series page, as of October 11, 2026, and each later book scores higher there: 4.48, 4.50 and 4.56 for books 2 to 4. 1. Start with Dungeon Life (book 1): 361 pages on Kindle, or 14 hours 55 minutes on Audible. Its full Amazon title is Dungeon Life: An Isekai LitRPG; the later books are simply numbered.
2. Read books 2 to 4 by number: Amazon labels them "Book 2 of 5" to "Book 4 of 5", and Podium's page for book 4 calls it "Dungeon Life, Book 4". No novellas or side stories are listed in the series on Amazon, Audible or Goodreads, which counts "5 primary works, 5 total works".
3. Pick either format: the audiobook has come out on the same day as the Kindle edition every time, so listeners are never a book behind readers.
4. Mark December 8, 2026 for book 5: Amazon's Kindle page says it "will be auto-delivered to your Kindle on December 8, 2026", and Audible lists the audiobook for the same date. It is on our release calendar.

Books 1 to 4 add up to 62 hours 50 minutes by our sum; Podium's own series page shows "62 hr, 51 min", a one-minute rounding difference. With book 5's listed 16 hours 27 minutes, the five books come to 79 hours 17 minutes.
At 62 hours 50 minutes, books 1 to 4 would sit near the bottom of our longest LitRPG audiobook series ranking, between Iron Prince (66 h 32 m) and The Perfect Run (54 h 37 m). Each book is fairly short: book 3 is the longest at 19 hours 6 minutes, and the other four run between 14 and 16 and a half hours.

When Does Dungeon Life 5 Come Out?
December 8, 2026, in Kindle and audio. As of October 11, 2026:
- Amazon Kindle: "Book 5 of 5", a pre-order, with "This title will be auto-delivered to your Kindle on December 8, 2026."
- Audible: Dungeon Life 5, Michael Gallagher, Podium Audio, release date 2026-12-08, listed at 16 hours 27 minutes.
- Podium: its series page already lists a Dungeon Life 5 title, while the series duration it shows (62 hr, 51 min) still covers books 1 to 4.
One line to ignore: an Amazon series blurb for book 5 already says the fifth volume is "now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook", which does not match the pre-order dates on the same store. Trust the dated product pages.
The gaps between books explain why fans watch December. Books 1 to 3 came out 154 and 161 days apart, then book 4 followed 357 days after book 3, and book 5 is set 364 days after book 4. A Reddit comment from October 2025 already expected book 4 in December: "Dungeon Life (book 3, 4 in December)" (u/Czeslaw_Meyer, comment).
Dungeon Life on Royal Road
Dungeon Life also lives on Royal Road (fiction 54476), where it had 13,226 followers on October 11, 2026. The page carries the Stub label, which Royal Road's knowledge base defines this way: "The story is no longer available in its full format on Royal Road." It listed 181 chapters when we checked, so expect gaps if you try to read it there. An author note on a Royal Road chapter says patrons "can read up to three chapters early" on his Patreon.
For a complete, numbered read, the Podium books are the reliable route. A reader in 2025 put it plainly: "3 books on Amazon and the rest on royal road still" (u/Genoshock, comment, June 20, 2025). That was before book 4, and the Stub label now means the web version is no longer the full story.

Tips Before You Start
- Know the mood. Readers call it slice of life; if you want a dungeon run from the adventurer's side, Dungeon Crawler Carl and its look-alikes are the other direction.
- The books are fairly short. Three of the five audiobooks run between 14 and 15 hours, and the longest, book 3, is just over 19.
- Plan for a yearly wait. Book 5 arrives a year after book 4, and no book 6 is listed anywhere we checked.

The trade-offs are pace and format: a book a year lately, and a Royal Road version that is now a stub, so the web serial is not a free shortcut.
