TL;DR: The Wandering Inn (776 h) leads, then Defiance of the Fall (398 h), Unbound (306 h), The Primal Hunter (298 h) and He Who Fights with Monsters (292 h). The longest LitRPG audiobook series on Audible is The Wandering Inn, at 776 hours 4 minutes over 19 audiobooks, almost twice the next series. We added up Audible's listed lengths for 26 LitRPG and progression fantasy series, book by book, as of October 11, 2026, with one series added on October 25. Below is the full ranking with narrators and book counts, the longest single audiobooks, and what all those hours mean in days of listening.
Key Takeaways
- One clear leader: The Wandering Inn's 19 audiobooks run 776 hours 4 minutes, 1.95 times Defiance of the Fall.
- Eight series pass 200 hours: The Wandering Inn, Defiance of the Fall, Unbound, The Primal Hunter, He Who Fights with Monsters, The Path of Ascension, Mark of the Fool and Awaken Online.
- Travis Baldree reads three of the top seven: Unbound, The Primal Hunter and Mark of the Fool.
- Book count is not length: The Good Guys has 16 audiobooks but averages 9 hours 26 minutes each; The Wandering Inn averages 40 hours 51 minutes.
- Few long series are finished: Mark of the Fool is the only top-ten series marked complete in our data.
Overview: how we ranked the longest LitRPG audiobook series
For each series we took the Audible length of every main numbered audiobook that is already out and added them up. Side stories, bundles and pre-orders are left out, and so are books that have no audiobook yet. For 22 of the series those lengths come from the source tables behind our reading-order and audiobook guides, checked on October 10 and 11, 2026; for The Good Guys, Chaos Seeds (The Land) and The System Apocalypse we pulled every Audible product page on October 11, 2026, and for Awaken Online on October 24, 2026.
That makes this a ranking of the series we have checked book by book, not of every LitRPG series on Audible. Everybody Loves Large Chests is missing because its volume numbering did not show on Audible's pages. Awaken Online is in at its eight numbered books, all read by David Stifel; its four side quests are left out like every other series' side stories.
On our audiobook index you can sort every audiobook from series we have published guides for by length.

Two rows changed in our October 23, 2026 recheck: Azarinth Healer Book Seven came out on Audible on October 15, 2026 (21 hours 25 minutes), and Noobtown's book 1 total uses the original 2019 Podium recording (9 hours 3 minutes), which Audible still sells next to two 2026 Harper Voyager recordings; our Noobtown guide explains the editions. Awaken Online's row was added after that: its eight numbered books run from 16 hours for Catharsis to 31 hours 23 minutes for book 8, Crucible.
The Top Five, One by One
1. The Wandering Inn (776 hours 4 minutes). Nineteen audiobooks from Podium Audio, read by Andrea Parsneau and then Erin Bennett. Its books are also the longest individually: book 2, Fae and Fare, runs 61 hours 4 minutes, and book 5, The Last Light, 52 hours 17 minutes. Book 20, Memory's Flame, is dated November 3, 2026 on Audible at 43 hours 55 minutes, which is not in the total. Our Wandering Inn reading order lists every volume.
2. Defiance of the Fall (397 hours 59 minutes). Seventeen audiobooks, all read by Pavi Proczko. See our Defiance of the Fall reading order.
3. Unbound (305 hours 35 minutes). Twelve books by Nicoli Gonnella from Mountaindale Press, every one read by Travis Baldree, at about 25 and a half hours per book. Our Unbound reading order has the titles in order.
4. The Primal Hunter (298 hours 14 minutes). Fifteen audiobooks read by Travis Baldree for Aethon Audio; book 16 is out as an ebook but had no Audible listing when we checked. See our Primal Hunter reading order.
5. He Who Fights with Monsters (292 hours 8 minutes). Thirteen audiobooks, all read by Heath Miller. Book 1 alone is 28 hours 56 minutes, which is where some listeners stop: u/5FiveAlive5, in a September 2026 r/DungeonCrawlerCarl thread, wrote "The first book is 28 hours long. I can't even imagine making it that far. And there are so. many. books." (comment, September 21, 2026).
Pretty slow start and good lord they are long (100 hours between the first two books), but once it's gets traction it's a blast.

The Longest Single Audiobooks
Across the 26 series, the longest single titles on Audible are:
- Fae and Fare (The Wandering Inn, book 2): 61 hours 4 minutes, Andrea Parsneau, released July 14, 2020.
- The Last Light (The Wandering Inn, book 5): 52 hours 17 minutes.
- Archmage's Ire (The Wandering Inn, book 18): 48 hours 16 minutes.
- The Wandering Inn (book 1): 48 hours 7 minutes.
The longest outside The Wandering Inn is The Land: Predators (Chaos Seeds, book 7): 46 hours 56 minutes, Nick Podehl, released June 28, 2018. It stands out in its own series: the other seven Chaos Seeds audiobooks run between 9 hours 49 minutes and 16 hours 35 minutes.
Analysis: what the numbers say about long LitRPG audiobooks
Book count misleads. The Good Guys has the third-highest number of audiobooks on this list (16), yet averages 9 hours 26 minutes each and comes eleventh. The System Apocalypse averages 10 hours 49 minutes over 12 books, Cradle 11 hours 12 minutes. At the other end, Iron Prince has only two audiobooks but averages 33 hours 16 minutes. If you are choosing by "value per credit", average length per book matters more than the number of books.
Books also tend to get longer as a series goes on. The Good Guys starts at 7 hours 43 minutes for book 1 and reaches 14 hours 56 minutes for book 16, which matches what u/Lordfiercrotch told a listener: "they are short starting out but get far longer in later books." (comment, March 23, 2026).
One voice dominates the top. Travis Baldree is the sole narrator of three of the eight series over 200 hours, and of six of the 26 in all (adding Cradle, The Ripple System and Beware of Chicken): 1,139 hours 55 minutes in this table by our sum. Our Travis Baldree audiobooks guide covers where to start with him. Nick Podehl reads three of the 26 (Chaos Seeds, The System Apocalypse and Arcane Ascension).
Long usually means unfinished. Of the top ten, only Mark of the Fool is marked complete in our series data (we have no status for Awaken Online, whose book 9 had no listing on October 24, 2026). The Wandering Inn, Defiance of the Fall, The Primal Hunter, He Who Fights with Monsters and The Path of Ascension are all still coming out.

How Long Is That in Days?
At 1x speed, two hours a day:
- The Wandering Inn: about 388 days.
- Defiance of the Fall: about 199 days.
- Unbound: about 153 days.
- Mark of the Fool, the longest finished series in our top ten: about 103 days.
Listeners who start The Wandering Inn tend to mention the size first. u/Woogoat, in a February 2026 thread: "Pretty slow start and good lord they are long (100 hours between the first two books), but once it’s gets traction it’s a blast." (By Audible's lengths, books 1 and 2 add up to 109 hours 11 minutes.) Our series length calculator works out your own speed and daily listening time, and skips books you have ticked as read.

Our take
Based on the facts above, if you want the most listening for your time, The Wandering Inn is in a league of its own, but its long single books make it a big commitment from book 1. For a long series with one narrator throughout, Defiance of the Fall, Unbound, The Primal Hunter, He Who Fights with Monsters and The Path of Ascension each give you 270 to 400 hours in one voice. If you want a long series you can actually finish today, Mark of the Fool is the pick at 207 hours. Treat the hours as a snapshot: four of the top five are still adding books, and The Wandering Inn grows again on November 3, 2026 if Memory's Flame arrives as dated.
How we checked this
For 22 series we used the Audible lengths in our series data, each copied from the audited source table of our guide to that series (checked October 10 and 11, 2026), and added up the main numbered audiobooks. On October 11, 2026 we pulled every Audible product page for The Good Guys (16 books), Chaos Seeds (8) and The System Apocalypse (12), and re-checked the Fae and Fare, The Land: Founding, The Land: Predators, One More Last Time, One Man's Laughter, Life in the North and System Finale pages ourselves. Everybody Loves Large Chests was left out because we could not confirm its full Audible list. Awaken Online's eight numbered audiobooks come from Audible's pages read on October 24, 2026 (12 titles in the series, four of them side quests), and we re-read the series list and book 8 on October 25. Reader comments were copied from Reddit thread data saved on October 10, 2026. Totals, averages and day counts are our own arithmetic. A site-agent then compared every number in this article with our source table before publication.
