About
A reader sheet for LitRPG and progression fantasy
LevelUpShelf helps you pick the next series: what to read after the one you finished, the order to read a series in, how long the audiobooks run, and what came out this month. It covers LitRPG, progression fantasy and Western cultivation books, published on Kindle, Audible and Royal Road.
Independent, no affiliate links
LevelUpShelf is independent and not affiliated with Amazon, Audible, Royal Road, Goodreads or any publisher. We carry no ads, affiliate links or sponsored posts, and nobody pays to be on a list. Links to stores and publishers are there so you can check the facts yourself.
Gate 1
Where every fact comes from
Every article starts from a source file. Each number, date or name in the article has a row in that file with the page it came from and the day we opened it. If a fact cannot be matched to a source, it does not go in.
- Release dates and number of books
- The publisher's page (Aethon, Podium, Ace and others) or the Amazon product page
- Audiobook narrator and length
- The Audible product or series page
- Chapter count and status of web serials
- The Royal Road fiction page
- Ratings and rating counts
- Goodreads, always with the date we checked, because the counts move every day
- What readers recommend
- Public Reddit threads, quoted with a link to the comment
- Cover images
- The publisher, the author's site or the official product page, credited under the image
House rules
What we will not do
- Claim we read or listened to something. Recommendations come from what readers say in public threads, which we quote and link, and from the publisher's own description.
- Invent reviewers, credentials or quotes. Articles carry one honest byline: LevelUpShelf Editorial.
- Spoil the plot. Anything past the premise sits behind a clear spoiler warning, or stays out.
- Show a Goodreads count or a release date without the date we checked it.
Card legend
What the read rank means
Each article card carries a rank from E to S. It grades the length of our article, not the book: an E is a quick check, an S is a long reference you may want to bookmark.
- Rank E
- up to 4 min
- Rank D
- 5 to 8 min
- Rank C
- 9 to 12 min
- Rank B
- 13 to 16 min
- Rank A
- 17 to 22 min
- Rank S
- 23 min or more
Shelves
What we cover
- Books like a series you finished: lists built from what readers recommend
- Reading orders with release dates, book counts and audiobook lengths
- New LitRPG and progression fantasy releases each month
- Trope lists: crafting, regression, dungeon cores, system apocalypse, cozy LitRPG
- Audiobooks: narrators, lengths and the series people recommend for listening
How a fact check works
Before publishing, each fact in a LevelUpShelf article (release dates, book and chapter counts, narrators, audiobook lengths, Goodreads counts) is matched to a row in the article's source file and the quoted passage is checked on the live source page. Facts that cannot be matched are removed. Counts show the date they were checked.
