9 min readBy LevelUpShelf EditorialLast reviewed
TL;DR: Read all 14 by number, from Ritualist to Uncapped, including Rexus (book 3, a short "Side Quest" that still counts). That is 5,683 Kindle pages or 177 hours 49 minutes on Audible. Book 15 has no official date; only one book database says "tentatively expected in 2027".

The Completionist Chronicles books by Dakota Krout number fourteen, from Ritualist (Audible, May 15, 2018) to Uncapped (June 2026). It is a LitRPG set inside a game world, published by Mountaindale Press, with Vikas Adam reading the first two audiobooks and Luke Daniels the other twelve. Below are all fourteen books in order with page counts, audio lengths and dates, how to handle the "Side Quest" in book 3, and what is known about book 15, all checked on October 11, 2026. Nothing past book 1's premise.
Key Takeaways
- Fourteen numbered books: Amazon labels each Kindle edition "Book N of 14", and Audible lists 14.
- Two narrators: Vikas Adam for books 1 and 2, Luke Daniels for books 3 to 14.
- Audio keeps up: since book 9, each audiobook has come out on or a few days before the Kindle date.
- A long pause, then a faster pace: 616 days passed between books 11 and 12; books 12, 13 and 14 then came about five months apart.
- No book 15 listing: no store or publisher page shows one as of October 11, 2026.
Overview
The Completionist Chronicles is a LitRPG series by Dakota Krout. Mountaindale Press is the publisher on the current Kindle editions, and both Krout's own domain and Mountaindale's redirect to the Mountaindale Press store.
The premise, from book 1's Kindle description: "A game that puts all others to shame. Magic that has been banned from the world. A man willing to learn no matter the cost." The main character, Joe, joins the game world for good: "Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted." Amazon pitches it as "perfect for fans of He Who Fights with Monsters, Unbound, and The Path of Ascension."
Krout also writes The Divine Dungeon, the most-named of the seven series ranked in our dungeon core books count. In the 4,433 Reddit comments we saved from 43 recommendation threads on October 10, 2026, "Completionist" or "Ritualist" appears in 16 comments across 10 threads.

"Audible" is the release date, length and rating on each audiobook's Audible page; for books 1 to 11 it is also the earliest date we found for the book. "Pages" is the print length on each current Kindle edition. Ratings are as of October 11, 2026 and will drift.

A note on Kindle dates: the current Kindle editions of books 1 to 7 are all dated September 16 or 17, 2022, and carry a new "An Epic Fantasy LitRPG Adventure" subtitle. Those are re-release dates, not first publication; Goodreads dates Ritualist to 2018, the same year as its first audiobook. From book 9 on, the Kindle date is within four days of the Audible date (Uncapped: June 3, 2026 on Kindle, June 2 on Audible).

Step-by-Step: How to Read The Completionist Chronicles
1. Start with Ritualist: 350 Kindle pages, or 12 hours 6 minutes on Audible with Vikas Adam.
2. Do not skip Rexus: book 3 has a "Side Quest" subtitle, but Amazon labels it "Book 3 of 14" and Audible numbers it book 3. At 200 pages and 6 hours 23 minutes it is the shortest book in the series.
3. Continue by number to Uncapped: Raze, Ruthless, Inflame, Invent, Implode, Tenacity, Thesaurize, Thunderplump, Untapped, Unmapped, Uncapped. The last three are the longest books, at 524 to 588 pages each.
4. Optional extras last: Goodreads also lists two short stories, Havoc in the Deathyards and The Tragedy of Trigger (both 2022), without series numbers. They are not part of the 14-book count, so leave them until after the main books.
5. Keep track on the series page: the Completionist Chronicles series page lists all 14 books with a checklist for the ones you have finished.
The Audiobooks: Vikas Adam, Then Luke Daniels
The narrator changes after book 2. Vikas Adam reads Ritualist and Regicide, both published in audio by Tantor Audio. Luke Daniels takes over from Rexus (book 3) and reads every book since; Audible lists Mountaindale Press as the audio publisher for most of them (Raze is a Tantor Audio title).
All 14 audiobooks add up to 177 hours 49 minutes by our sum, an average of about 12 hours 42 minutes per book. That would put the series eighth in our longest LitRPG audiobook series ranking, between Mark of the Fool (206 h 55 m) and Dungeon Crawler Carl (159 h 22 m), though it is not in that ranking yet. Luke Daniels is also the voice of Iron Prince.
Audio is not a waiting game here. Books 9 to 14 all came out on Audible on or up to four days before their Kindle editions.
Lots of good recommendations but I'd also add Dakota Krout as an author to look into.

When Is Completionist Chronicles Book 15 Coming Out?
There is no official date. As of October 11, 2026:
- Amazon: the Kindle series page lists "14 books", and Uncapped is "Book 14 of 14".
- Audible: the series page lists 14 books.
- Mountaindale Press store: the Completionist Chronicles pages we checked go up to Uncapped (book 14), with no book 15 product.
- Rising Shadow, a book database, says of "The Completionist Chronicles Book 15": "Publication is tentatively expected in 2027." (wording rechecked October 19, 2026). We found nothing official behind that.
Goodreads counts 15 primary works, but we could not identify a fifteenth title on its series page, so we do not treat that as a listing. For timing, the last three gaps between audiobooks were 616, 156 and 139 days; 131 days had passed since Uncapped on October 11, 2026. Our release calendar will add book 15 once Mountaindale, Amazon or Audible gives it a date.
What Readers Say
The pitch readers give is close to Amazon's. u/shadowkyros, in a February 2026 r/litrpg thread about what to read after HWFWM and DCC, described Krout's two series: "He has a series from the perspective of a sentient dungeon (Divine Dungeon) and then a series more like DCC with the stats and loot and all that called Completionist Chronicles, great humor with some big stakes and a fun MC." (comment, February 4, 2026).
u/No-Imagination4628, in r/DungeonCrawlerCarl, summed up the setup: "A paraplegic man decides to upload his mind into a fantasy VR level progression game and decides to max out as many traits as possible." (comment, September 21, 2026).
Not everyone stays for all 14. u/MidwayHaptic: "I really liked “The Completionist Chronicles” until I got to around book 6ish." (comment, March 13, 2026). Audible's ratings for the middle books stay high (4.71 to 4.82 for books 5 to 8), but the number of ratings drops from 7,096 for book 5 to 3,372 for book 8.

Tips Before You Start
- Expect a game world. The main character joins a game world for good; readers compare the stats-and-loot side to Dungeon Crawler Carl.
- Listeners: the voice changes at book 3. If you start in audio, know that Luke Daniels replaces Vikas Adam from Rexus on.
- Read Rexus. It is short and numbered; skipping it leaves a gap.
- Spoilers: later blurbs give away earlier events. Read only the blurb of the book you are about to start.
Our take
Based on the facts above, The Completionist Chronicles suits readers who want a long LitRPG with a lot already out: fourteen numbered books, 177 hours of audio, and audiobooks that now arrive with the ebooks. The questions are the narrator change at book 3 and staying power, since at least one reader dropped off around book 6 while the readers who stay keep rating it highly. If you came here from Dungeon Crawler Carl for the stats and the humor, start with Ritualist and decide after Regicide; there is no book 15 date to wait for yet.
How we checked this
On October 11, 2026 we opened the Amazon Kindle series page and the Kindle page for each of the 14 books (print length, date, "Book N of 14", publisher), the Audible product page for each audiobook (narrator, length, date, publisher, rating) and the Audible series page, the Goodreads series page, the Mountaindale Press store pages, and the Rising Shadow series and book 15 pages. Reader comments were copied from Reddit thread data saved on October 10, 2026, because Reddit blocks live reading from our machine. Totals and day counts are our own arithmetic. A site-agent then compared every number in this article with our source table before publication.
