Divine Dungeon Reading Order: All 5 Books, Series Complete
8 min readBy LevelUpShelf EditorialLast reviewed
TL;DR: Five books, read 1 to 5; the series is complete by Mountaindale's count. Vikas Adam reads books 1 to 4 and Luke Daniels reads book 5 (Tantor Audio, 59 h 47 m in total). Graphic Audio also has full-cast editions of all five.

Read the five books by number: the Divine Dungeon reading order runs Dungeon Born, Dungeon Madness, Dungeon Calamity, Dungeon Desolation, Dungeon Eternium, and that's the whole series. Its publisher, Mountaindale Press, labels each one "Book N of 5" and sells it as a complete set. On Audible the five run 59 hours 47 minutes, one of the shorter finished dungeon core series. The catch: the narrator changes for the last book. Below: the order, lengths, the narrator switch, and the Graphic Audio editions.
Key Takeaways
- Five books, all out since Dungeon Eternium's audiobook on October 15, 2019.
- Complete per the publisher: "Book 1 of 5" to "Book 5 of 5" and a "Complete Series" bundle.
- Narrator switch at book 5: Vikas Adam to Luke Daniels.
- Short listen: 59 h 47 m in total, Commitment D-rank.
- Two audio versions: Tantor's single-narrator books and Graphic Audio's full-cast editions.

Overview
The Divine Dungeon is Dakota Krout's dungeon core series, published by Mountaindale Press, with audiobooks from Tantor Audio. Audible's summary of book 1 opens: "A powerful dungeon. A sheep-herder turned Noble. Their path to ascendance through cultivation." Our dungeon core books list explains the trope, where the hero is the dungeon.
Mountaindale's author page credits Krout with "the best-selling Divine Dungeon, Completionist Chronicles, Full Murderhobo, Damsels of Distress, Cooking with Disaster, Year of The Sword, and Artorian's Archives series." Those are separate series. Fourteen Completionist Chronicles books are covered in our Completionist Chronicles reading order.
Desk note: Commitment: D-rank (59 h 47 m). All five Tantor audiobooks together run about twice as long as book 1 of He Who Fights with Monsters alone (28 h 56 m).

Every Divine Dungeon Book in Order
Release dates, lengths and narrators come from each audiobook's Audible listing (all Tantor Audio). "Mountaindale" is the publisher's own numbering. Audible ratings were read on our check date and will drift. Amazon's Kindle pages did not load for this check.
| # | Title | Mountaindale | Audible | Length | Narrator | Audible rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dungeon Born | Book 1 of 5 | Mar 28, 2017 | 12 h 32 m | Vikas Adam | 4.5 (16,984) |
| 2 | Dungeon Madness | Book 2 of 5 | Oct 17, 2017 | 12 h 1 m | Vikas Adam | 4.7 (11,795) |
| 3 | Dungeon Calamity | Book 3 of 5 | Jan 25, 2018 | 13 h 12 m | Vikas Adam | 4.8 (11,331) |
| 4 | Dungeon Desolation | Book 4 of 5 | Jan 22, 2019 | 11 h 55 m | Vikas Adam | 4.7 (8,866) |
| 5 | Dungeon Eternium | Book 5 of 5 | Oct 15, 2019 | 10 h 7 m | Luke Daniels | 4.3 (6,913) |
Book 5 has the lowest Audible average of the five, 4.3, after four books at 4.5 to 4.8. It is also the one with the new narrator. Ratings do not say why, so read the reader quotes below before you decide what that number means.

Step-by-Step: How to Read The Divine Dungeon
1. Start with Dungeon Born: 12 hours 32 minutes on Audible.
2. Read books 2 to 5 by number. The five titles all start with "Dungeon", which makes the order easy to lose; use the Mountaindale numbers above.
3. Decide on the audio version before book 5. The Tantor edition changes narrator for Dungeon Eternium. If that worries you, the Graphic Audio full-cast edition is the other way to hear it.
4. Stop at book 5. No sixth book is listed, so the series ends with Dungeon Eternium.
Is The Divine Dungeon Finished?
Yes, by its publisher's count. As of our check, Mountaindale Press:
- labels the books "Book 1 of 5" through "Book 5 of 5" on its Divine Dungeon collection page;
- sells a bundle titled "Divine Dungeon Signed Complete Series".
Audible's series list also has five books. Dungeon Eternium reached Audible on October 15, 2019, which was 84 months before our check. We found no Krout statement in his own words, so the "complete" label is Mountaindale's. One third-party book list counts six books; neither the publisher nor Audible does, and we go with them.
The Audiobooks: Vikas Adam, Then Luke Daniels
Tantor Audio published all five. Vikas Adam reads books 1 to 4; Luke Daniels reads book 5. We found no public explanation for the switch. Daniels is also the main voice of Krout's Completionist Chronicles (books 3 to 14), so the series ends in a voice Krout readers may already know.
Some listeners do not make the jump. u/TheOnlyJustTheCraft, in an October 2026 r/litrpg thread: "My only issue with divine dungeon is that the narrator changes after a few books and I can't give this new guy a fair shot." The same comment adds a tip: "divine dungeon has a really cool plot reveal wrap up thing right before the narrator switches, so it doesn't feel bad to put it down right there." (comment, October 20, 2026).
My only issue with divine dungeon is that the narrator changes after a few books and I can't give this new guy a fair shot. I will say however, that divine dungeon has a really cool plot reveal wrap up thing right before the narrator switches

The Graphic Audio Editions
Audible also carries Graphic Audio LLC editions of all five books, credited to a full cast, released between June 2023 and May 2024. They are shorter: 41 hours 25 minutes for the five, 18 hours 22 minutes less than the Tantor books. They are a different kind of production, so pick one version and stay with it for the whole run. Our best LitRPG audiobooks list ranks the series listeners name most.
Where Readers Split
On the ending, opinions differ less than on the narrator. u/dmjohn0x put it among the few stories he thinks "landed the ending... Breaking Bad, Cowboy Bebop, The Wire, Divine Dungeon, etc.." (comment, October 15, 2026). Against that, the narrator-switch reader above stopped after book 4, and the Audible average dips at book 5. u/123dylans12 told a reader who had bounced off it: "I would recommend giving the divine dungeon series another try. I really enjoyed the series" (comment).

Tips Before You Start
- Know the trope. You spend a lot of the story with the dungeon itself, as the book 1 summary sets up.
- Plan the narrator switch. Book 5 is read by Luke Daniels, not Vikas Adam.
- A natural pause point exists. One reader says book 4 ends on a reveal that works as a stopping place.
- Spoilers: the later summaries give away earlier events. Read only the next one.
Our take
Our pick: start Dungeon Born if you want a finished dungeon core series in under 60 hours. All five are out, the publisher calls it complete, and the full run is 59 h 47 m on Tantor's audio.
Skip it (for now) if: a narrator change mid-series ruins a listen for you; book 5 switches voices.
What we don't know yet: why the narrator changed for book 5. Neither Mountaindale nor Audible said, as of October 24, 2026.
How we checked this
On October 24, 2026 we read Audible's catalog data for the five Tantor audiobooks and the Graphic Audio editions (narrator, length, date, publisher, rating) and the series list, plus Mountaindale Press's Divine Dungeon collection and Dakota Krout author page. Amazon's Kindle pages returned errors, and the Goodreads series page did not load. Reader quotes come from r/litrpg and r/ProgressionFantasy comments of October 2026, read through the Arctic Shift archive. Totals are our arithmetic. We have not read the series ourselves.
