Comedy is not a shelf on any store, so we tag a series as funny only when its publisher, a store page, its own Royal Road tags or readers say so, and one of our guides quotes them. Royal Road lets authors tag a story Comedy: Heretical Fishing and The Perfect Run both carry that tag.

Publishers lean on the word as well. Aethon sells Mage Tank as "hilarious", its Audible blurb calls it "A hilarious new Isekai LitRPG adventure", and our Mage Tank guide puts it plainly: it is a comedy first. Podium calls Beware of Chicken book 1 a laugh-out-loud, slice-of-life martial-arts fantasy.

Listeners who finish Dungeon Crawler Carl often ask for the same humor next, and the answers in those threads are where many of these picks come from. One r/litrpg reader called Chrysalis "the closest thing I’ve found to DCC in terms of humor and being engaging." Each series below is tagged from one of our guides, with the quote under its name, its status, its book count and its audiobook hours, so you can pick a finished series or a long one.
