Time loop stories make the hero relive the same stretch of time until they get it right. Regression stories are the close cousin: they send the hero back once, to redo a life with what he already knows. Royal Road has a Time Loop tag, and Mother of Learning and The Perfect Run both carry it without a LitRPG tag; the growth comes from what the hero learns each time around, not from a stat sheet.
They are also the most-talked-about loops in our reader data by a wide margin. In 4,433 saved Reddit comments, The Perfect Run came up in 93 comments across 30 threads and Mother of Learning in 74 across 32. Mother of Learning is marked COMPLETED on Royal Road, and its fiction page sums up the setup: "Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again".
